Small plane flips on landing in Illinois, injuring pilot

SHERIDAN, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say a small open cockpit airplane flipped while landing at an airport in northern Illinois, injuring the pilot.

The LaSalle County Sheriff's Office says the plane came down hard on the landing Saturday morning at Cushing Field Limited Airport in the Fox River village of Sheridan.

WLS-TV reports (http://abc7.ws/29yT5u9 ) the pilot was airlifted to a hospital. There were no immediate details on his injuries or condition.
