Fundraising carnival for teen with cancer

A fundraising carnival will help 15-year-old Glenbard North High School student Emily Giovingo as she fights Ewing's sarcoma, a cancer she was diagnosed with this spring.

The carnival for Warriors for Emily will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Snow Angels Farm, 9 Porter School Road, Barrington Hills. It will be hosted by Tovar Snow Professionals of East Dundee, the employer of one of Emily's parents.

Warriors for Emily is a group started to benefit Emily and her family. All of the event proceeds will be used to help cover Emily's medical costs, including chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.

Admission is $5, free for ages 15 and younger, and includes a meal and a raffle ticket. Activities at the fundraiser also include an auction, bouncy house, food and games.
