Where I-90 work will cause nighttime road closures this summer

The pain is being passed around with a buffet of nighttime road closures popping up this month in the Northwest suburbs, courtesy of Jane Addams Tollway (I-90) construction.

Significant shutdowns include closures on Busse Road in Elk Grove Village and on Route 31 in Elgin. Illinois tollway workers are installing new bridge beams at various locations along the Jane Addams.

Here are details of what's happening:

• Busse Road at I-90 will close between 10 p.m. Thursday, July 7, and 5 a.m. Friday, July 8. Detours along Oakton Street, Elmhurst and Algonquin roads will be posted. Stormy weather could delay the closure until Friday. The left lane in each direction of Busse will close for the summer.

• Two nights of lane closures are expected at some point on Route 31 at I-90 in Elgin. This includes intermittent road closures for 15 minutes between 9:30 p.m. and 2 a.m.

• Several days of overnight lane closures are scheduled on Wolf Road and I-90 in Des Plaines. This includes intermittent road closures for 15 minutes between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

• Single lane closures in both directions will be ongoing through mid-July at the Beverly Road bridge in Hoffman Estates at I-90.

• Higgins Road in Rosemont will experience two nights of lane closures the week of July 11. This also includes full closures for 15-minute periods between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

• Two southbound lanes on Roselle Road north of Central Road in Schaumburg will be shifted to the left the week of July 25.
