Former Wyoming coach hired by NBA team

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Former Wyoming men's basketball coach Larry Shyatt has been hired by the Dallas Mavericks.
Shyatt will work as an assistant coach for coach Rick Carlisle.
The NBA team says Shyatt's primary focus will be to work with the big men.
Shyatt compiled a 117-78 record with the Cowboys before he left the program after last season.
In 2015, Shyatt led Wyoming to its first Mountain West Conference tournament championship and to the NCAA Tournament where the Cowboys lost in the first round.
