Think of entire state, not just 1 percent

For 18 months Governor Rauner has refused to work with legislative leadership to develop a budget. He has preached divisiveness in an effort to pit one region against another so people would see the wisdom of his myopic view that what is economically best for the top one percent is best for the entire state.

Programs for needy students, struggling families, the sick and the elderly have been left underfunded so the state can hobble along on lower taxes. He says he wants to develop Illinois's workforce but has refused to adequately fund assistance for low income families, leaving them unable to pay for day care on jobs that pay $12 to $14 per hour. Without state assistance, low income workers can't cover day care costs; they are forced to leave work and return to welfare.

Governor Rauner, you no longer are a hedge fund manager, you work for the people of Illinois; get a budget even if it means working with Madigan and Cullerton, which it probably will, No, you won't get everything you want but you may get some of it and have a chance of becoming governor of the whole state, not just the "One Percent." Think about it.
