Howard, Besler, Orozco in US lineup vs Colombia

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Goalkeeper Tim Howard and defenders Matt Besler and Michael Orozco were inserted into the U.S. starting lineup for Saturday's Copa America third-place match against Colombia.

Howard was to make his 109th international appearance, taking over from Brad Guzan, who had started the previous nine games.

Besler was in central defense in place of John Brooks, who was bothered by knee inflammation, and Orozco was at left back instead of Fabian Johnson, who has a sore groin. Brooks and Johnson played with those injuries throughout the tournament.

Midfielders Jermaine Jones and Alejandro Bedoya returned to the lineup along with forward Bobby Wood after the three served one-game suspensions, missing the 4-0 semifinal loss to Argentina. They replaced Kyle Beckerman, Graham Zusi and Chris Wondolowski.

DeAndre Yedlin was at right back, and Geoff Cameron was paired with Besler in central defense. Captain Michael Bradley and Gyasi Zardes were in the midfield of the 4-4-2 formation, and Clint Dempsey was paired with Wood in the attack.

Colombia was without midfielder Carlos Sanchez due to a one-game suspension caused by a red card against Chile. La Tricolor made two changes from the lineup used in its opening 2-0 win over the U.S. on June 3, starting left back Frank Fabra in place of Farid Diaz and midfielder Guillermo Celis instead of Sebastian Perez.

David Ospina was in goal, with Santiago Arias at right back and Cristian Zapata and Jeison Murillo in central defense. Daniel Torres joined Celis in defensive midfield of the 4-5-1 formation, with Juan Cuadrado, James Rodríguez and Edwin Cardona in more advanced midfield, and Carlos Bacca up front.

Roger Martinez had started at forward in the 2-0 semifinal loss to Chile.
