Official: Two men shot in Aurora after fight

Two men were injured in a shooting after an altercation Tuesday afternoon in Aurora, officials said.

The men, ages 17 and 21, were shot at about 1:40 p.m. on the 900 block of Fieldstone, Aurora media relations manager Dan Ferrelli said. Both men are in a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening and in police custody.

"It appears numerous people, including the two men, were engaged in a verbal argument when it escalated and turned physical. Someone produced a handgun and fired shots, striking the two men," Ferrelli said in an email.

Police arrested three other men after stopping a vehicle, which appears to be connected to the shooting, in the area of Long Grove Drive and Fox Hill Road, he said. The investigation is ongoing.
