New deputy chief in Rosemont public safety department

Kieran Mackey has been appointed as one of two deputy chiefs in the Rosemont Public Safety Department.

Mackey will oversee the department's Bureau of Fire Suppression. Kevin Kukulka is the other deputy chief, in charge of the Bureau of Patrol. Both report to department Chief Donald Stephens III.

William Schuster was appointed in 2014 to head the fire suppression bureau, but recently retired and now works as a part-time village fire inspector. John Aichinger at that time was appointed to head a third division, Bureau of Support Services, but also recently retired and now works part-time security at Rosemont municipal properties, according to Stephens.

He said the support services position would likely remain vacant since there's little need for it.
