Vintage cars draw a crowd in Mundelein

Almost 500 vintage cars filled Park and Seymour streets in Mundelein Wednesday night for Park on Park Cruise Night.

Event organizer Pete Christie of Antioch said the event was almost full.

"My job is to get the sponsors for the show so when you come it costs you nothing at all. If you want to buy something, we have five food vendors, but other than that there's no cost involved in bringing you car in," Christie said.

The is the 16th year for event, which happens on the second Wednesday of the month from May to September.

By limiting the cars to those made before 1977, the event draws some of the finest vehicles in the area, organizers said.

About 1,000 people attended Wednesday night's event, Christie estimated.
