Motorcyclist seriously injured in Antioch crash

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash Friday morning in Antioch, authorities said.

Antioch police were called to the 1000 block of west Route 173 at 11:35 a.m. for the crash, according to a news release.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital by the Antioch Fire Department, authorities said, and Route 173 was closed until after 3 p.m. between Tiffany Road to Talman Avenue so the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team could investigate.

No further information on the driver's condition was available late Friday.
