Actor Ethan Hawke bringing new book to Naperville

Actor and author Ethan Hawke will be in Naperville next week to celebrate the release of "Indeh," his new graphic novel cowritten with Greg Ruth.

Hawke, who has starred in movies such as "Dead Poet's Society" and "Training Day," will discuss the book and meet with fans at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at North Central College's Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The event is sponsored by Anderson's Bookshop.

Tickets are required and available exclusively at EthanandGregAndersons.brownpapertickets.com.

The book is set in 1872 in the war-torn Apache nations where the word "Indeh" means "the dead." Hawke's work probes themes of cultural differences, the horrors of war, the search for peace, and, ultimately, retribution.

Hawke is an actor, screenwriter, film and theater director, and novelist. He has been nominated for Academy Awards for both acting and writing, a Tony award, and a Drama Desk Award for both acting and directing. Ruth is a New York Times best-selling author and illustrator.
