Lake County Sheriff releases list of noncompliant sex offenders
The Lake County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday released its latest list of noncompliant sex offenders in Lake County - 15 men for whom authorities have active arrest warrants.
Officials from the sheriff's office say registered sex offenders are required to physically appear at the sheriff's office or a local police department for a weekly, quarterly or yearly registration. The sheriff's office also conducts residential compliance checks for sex offenders who live within the office's jurisdiction.
"These at-large sex offenders could be someone you see in the neighborhood, someone working at your local convenience store, or someone you see at local events," Sheriff Mark Curran said in a statement. "A tip from the public may be all it takes to aid in their apprehension."
The list includes those registered child sex offenders and registered sexual predators who authorities say are not compliant:
• Pankaj Najinbhai Amin, 62, wanted for failure to appear;
• Darwin Sauler Calilap, 43, wanted for violation of a court order;
