Danville police investigate double homicide

DANVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Authorities in central Illinois say Danville police responding to a call of shots fired found the body of woman outside a house and man's body inside another house.

Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says police officers were called early Wednesday by residents who indicated a woman was being chased by a man.

He said when police arrived at the scene, they found the body of 26-year-old Miranda Oatis in the yard of a house.

A search of the area led to the open door of a nearby house, where they found the body of 36-year-old Dajunrae Gourard in one of the rooms.

Thomason said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
