COD, Glen Ellyn District 41 celebrate new ESL grads

Glen Ellyn Elementary District 41 and College of DuPage will partner again later this summer to bring English as a Second Language classes to parents of kids in the district.

The community college and the district joined forces this year to offer the free, 16-week program taught by a COD instructor and hosted at Churchill Elementary in Glen Ellyn.

A recent graduation ceremony celebrated the 20 parents who earned their certificates after taking classes twice a week at Churchill.

Parents across the district were invited to participate. Most have students attending Churchill and Benjamin Franklin Elementary in Glen Ellyn.

New classes are slated to begin at the end of August at Churchill, 240 Geneva Road. Students will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 8:50 p.m. for 16 weeks.

There is no registration fee; materials are provided.
