Music notes: Get a little Heart at Genesee Friday

You gotta have Heart

Busting on to the scene in the '70s with Heart, sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson have continued cutting through the musical landscape ever since, leaving a trail of hits in their wake. From the hard-cutting "Crazy On You" and "Barracuda" to the wispy ballad "These Dreams," the sisters Wilson know how to weave a classic to stand the test of time. Hear them play in Waukegan on their "She Devils" tour, along with openers Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers. 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, at the Genesee Theatre, 203 N.
Corgan, The Shifties at Zuzu's

Building on the popularity of last year's "In Plainsong" tour, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and longtime musical collaborator Jeff Schroeder revived the tour early this year, bringing a mix of acoustic and electronic rock across the country. Catch them when they play locally at Corgan's Madame ZuZu's Tea Shop Saturday along with special guests The Shifties. The hard-rocking foursome will bring a stripped-down 3-piece set to support their recent album, "Western Automatic." 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Madame ZuZu's Tea Shop and Art Studio, 582 Roger Williams Ave., Highland Park. $30.
