Naperville North 11, Waubonsie Valley 4:
The Huskies (13-13, 11-10) broke open the DuPage Valley Conference game by scoring 3 runs in the fifth inning and 5 runs in the sixth. Brennan Simek, Paul Dobravec and Christian Barczi drove in 3 runs apiece. Kyle Cobb picked up the win and Zach Benaitis the save. Nick Price had 2 RBI for Waubonsie Valley (20-9, 14-7), which remains in a first-place tie in the DVC with Naperville Central.
Neuqua Valley 2-9, Lake Park 1-10:
James Kulak pitched a 4-hitter and Will Drake and Tyler Cristofaro drove in runs in the opener for the Wildcats (17-11, 12-9 DuPage Valley). Lake Park (18-9, 13-8) came back to win the second game with a pair of RBI from winning pitcher A.J. Ackerley, Zach Aehlert, Dan Lamz and Joe Amore. Joe Previti hit a grand slam for Neuqua Valley in Game 2.
Benet 8-3, St. Viator 0-7:
Marty Dosen and Dan Sobolewski each went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Game 1 as the Redwings (12-16, 7-9) split in the East Suburban Catholic. Winning pitcher Joey Christensen scattered 7 hits, struck out seven and walked none. Bobby Ernsting had 2 hits in the second game.
Lisle 1, Sandwich 0:
Alec Van Volkenburg fired a 1-hitter with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in the Interstate Eight victory for the Lions (15-14, 7-9). Drew English doubled home the game's lone run in the fourth inning. Christian Grego went 2-for-2.
Montini 12, F.W. Parker 2:
The Broncos (18-12) ended the nonconference game by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth. Alex Luka went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Ryan Nelson had 2 hits and Justin Blake drove in 2 runs. Danny Mallory, Patrick Laughlin and Robert Mrazek each pitched 2 innings.
Hinsdale Central 8-5, Glenbard West 4-0:
The Red Devils (20-10, 11-6) swept in the West Suburban Silver, winning the opener behind a 4-for-4 effort from Andrew Zapka and 4 RBI from Drew Mullarkey. Anthony Pescara pitched a 2-hitter in Game 2 as Alex Herbst drove in 3 runs. R.J. Paul went 4-for-4 in the opener for Glenbard West (11-18, 6-11).
St. Francis 15, St. Teresa 5:
The Spartans (19-11) scored 13 unanswered runs after St. Teresa tallied all its runs in the top of the second inning. Brett Whelton went 2-for-2 with 5 RBI while Foster Heise went 3-for-3 with 3 RBI. Connor Quinn was the winning pitcher.
Wheaton Academy 12, St. Edward 2:
Nursing a 3-2 lead in Metro Suburban play, the Warriors (15-12, 11-6) exploded for 9 fourth-inning runs. Noah Ritchie went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. Christian Ebeling and Anthony Vavrinchik had a hit and 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Adam Marquardt scattered 4 hits over 5 innings.
