24th Annual District 25 Student Art Show Opens at Arlington Heights Memorial Library

More than 400 students, teachers, special guests and community members celebrated the arts and education Thursday, May 5 at the opening night reception for the 24th Annual District 25 Student Art Show at the library. More than 250 students from seven area elementary schools and two middle schools were honored with certificates for having their artwork on display.

The South Middle School Jazz Band, led by Oksana Lukaszewskyj, played to entertain the large crowd of visitors, and Batgirl greeted families and shared information about the library's upcoming FanCom event.

Arlington Heights Mayor Tom Hayes, Library Director Jason Kuhl, Library Board President Deb Smart, School District 25 Superintendent Dr. Lori Bein and Village Manager Randy Recklaus greeted families and educators at Thursday night's event.

Students of all ages enjoyed the many different types of art on display, from 2D displays on the walls in the Marketplace to 3D art in the library's display cases.Check out all the pieces on display, now through May 27 in the library.
