Boys track and field: Downing leads St. Viator to second in ESCC meet

Denzel Downing won the 100-meter dash and the 110 and 300 hurdles to help St. Viator to a second-place team finish in the East Suburban Catholic Conference boys track and field meet Wednesday hosted by Notre Dame.

Marist won with 139 points; St. Viator finished with 113 to edge third-place Benet (112.5).

Downing's winning individual efforts were 11.18 in the 100, 14.81 in the 110 high hurdles and 39.78 in the 300 hurdles.

Jacob Bonanotte was also a champion for St. Viator with a 50.30 clocking in the 400 meters, and the Lions took top honors in the 4x800 relay as Bonanotte, Miles McDonnell, Richard Rinka and Brady Collis finished in 8:38.10.
