Vancouver rally to beat Portland

Christian Bolanos scored his third goal in three games as the Vancouver Whitecaps rallied to beat the Portland Timbers 2-1 on Saturday.

Bolanos broke a tie in the 66th minute on a chip into the penalty area that goalkeeper Jake Gleeson allowed to trickle between his legs.

Masato Kudo tied it for Vancouver in the 60th minute with his first MLS goal, after Nate Borchers had put Portland ahead in the 34th minute.

The Whitecaps (4-5-2) won for the second time in their last seven games.

Former Chelsea star Didier Drogba helped lift Montreal from 4-1 down in the second half to a thrilling 4-4 draw at Columbus.

Montreal (4-3-3) looked down and out before Drogba pulled the Impact back to 4-2 on a penalty kick in the 57th minute, and Ignacio Piatti cut it to 4-3 a minute later when he finished Oduro's back pass.

With the Crew still looking likely to hang on for the win, Dominic Oduro equalized in the 93rd minute after latching onto a glanced Drogba header.

Kei Kamara opened the scoring in the 16th minute for Columbus (2-4-3). After Piatti equalized in the 26th minute, the Crew broke away to lead 4-1 after 53 minutes.

In Colorado, Jermaine Jones scored in the 47th minute as the Rapids beat Real Salt Lake 1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Cup.

Colorado (6-2-2) moved atop the Western Conference standings and extended its unbeaten streak to five games. The Rapids' last loss came in a 1-0 defeat at Real Salt Lake on April 9.

Kevin Doyle drew three defenders in the box and found Jones trailing the play. Jones used the outside of his foot to squeeze a shot inside the far post.

In Seattle, Clint Dempsey rocketed in a shot from straight in front of the goal in the 26th minute and Jordan Morris scored for the fourth straight game as the Sounders beat San Jose 2-0.

Dempsey's goal, from just beyond the top of the penalty spot, was his second of the season.

Morris scored from just outside the area in the 89th minute, tying the MLS record for consecutive games with a goal for a rookie.

It was the first time in 23 games that the Earthquakes (4-3-3) were shut out.

Rookie Tsubasa Endoh scored his first MLS goal in Toronto FC's 1-0 victory over FC Dallas in the Canadian team's home opener.

Sebastian Giovinco set up the 28th-minute goal for Toronto (4-3-2) in front of a sellout crowd of 30,025 at renovated BMO Field. Clint Irwin had is fourth shutout of the season.

In Houston, Giles Barnes and Andrew Wenger scored in the first half and Houston beat Sporting Kansas City 2-0.

Houston (2-5-2) snapped a three-game losing streak and a six-game winless stretch. It was the Dynamo's first win since a 5-0 victory against FC Dallas on March 12.
