Girls soccer: Nonconference win for Conant, Hoffman Estates
Conant's girls soccer team came up with 3 first-half goals and held on for a 4-3 victory over Waubonsie Valley on Saturday in nonconference play.
Stephanie Mazurek assisted on the first 3 goals for Conant, scored by Rachel Raymer, Emily Mazurek and Kaylin Feeley. Emily Mazurek had the final goal, assisted by Feeley.
Hoffman Estates 4, Dundee-Crown 0: Senior center back Jennie Nailor came up with a hat trick to power the Hawks to a nonconference victory.
Nailor's first goal came at the three-minute mark on a 30-yard free kick from the left side of the 18-yard box. The other came as the result of set-piece plays into the box in the second half.
Michelle Montes De Oca had the final goal at 76 minutes.
Ena Sabanagic assisted two of Nailor's gaols, and Natalie Nagrant assisted on Montes De Oca's strike.
Francesca Van stopped 3 shots for Hoffman Estates (7-9-0) to earn her sixth shutout of the season.
