Amy Edwards resigning as Grayslake trustee

Grayslake is seeking a replacement for Trustee Amy Edwards, who is resigning effective July 31 after more than a decade on the village board.

Edwards joined the board in May 2005, and also has been a longtime member of the village's advisory economic development commission, as well as its environmental stewardship committee.

Edwards is resigning because she plans to move out of state.

"Amy Edwards has been an outstanding leader for Grayslake," Mayor Rhett Taylor said. "During her almost 12 years on the board, she has provided the board with valuable insights and sound judgment. She has helped make Grayslake even better."

As required by state statute, Taylor will recommend someone to fill the vacancy for the remainder of Edwards' term, which expires in April 2017. Residents interested in applying for the village board vacancy should contact Taylor's office at (847) 223-8515.
