Wedding recipe a gift that's kept on giving

When my husband and I got married, we received a wonderful gift which included a beautiful painted ceramic serving bowl, a set of serving utensils, a good bottle of olive oil and this recipe. The couple that gave us the gift said this was one of their favorite recipes and it has become a favorite in our house, too.

I've shared this recipe with many people who want to make a special dinner for friends but don't feel all that confident cooking. Because the recipe calls for cooked shrimp, the need to cook the shrimp properly is taken out of the equation and I've had many comments from readers on my blog that say this recipe has turned out great for them.

If you are working with shrimp that is thawed but was previously frozen, it may be quite moist. I recommend not only draining the shrimp well for a recipe like this, but also blotting it dry with a few paper towels before adding it to the pan. If you don't, the excess moisture will cause the dish to be a bit watery.

An added benefit to this recipe is that it makes a great gift, especially when given along with a nice ceramic bowl.
