GI Research Foundation to hold its 55th Annual Ball to Raise Funds For Digestive Disease Research

The GI Research Foundation (GIRF) will hold its 55th annual Ball on June 4, 2016 as part of its mission to raise funds to help support the physicians and scientists at the University of Chicago Medicine Digestive Diseases Center. Funds raised will be used to perform innovative clinical and laboratory research, provide outstanding care and train future leaders, with the goal of treating, curing and preventing digestive diseases.

The event, "A Magical Night at the Museum," will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at The Museum of Science and Industry, 5700 S Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, from 6:30 pm until 11:30 pm.

The magical evening will include spectacular live entertainment, a delectable reception and dinner, an exciting live auction, one of a kind raffle prizes, and dancing into the night. Over 400 people dedicated to the cause are expected to be in attendance. All proceeds from this event will go directly to help advance the work of the University of Chicago Medicine Digestive Diseases Center.

Studies estimate that 1 out of every 4 Americans suffer from Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, stomach cancer, hepatitis B and C, pancreatitis, colon cancer, celiac disease, esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, gastroesophageal reflux, liver disease, or other digestive diseases. The monies raised by the evening's festivities will help fund the ground breaking research that focuses on these diseases. With the help of our donors, we continue to move closer to finding cures, and offering the best quality of life for GI patients worldwide.
