Anti-heroin Lali's Law moves in Congress

A proposed federal law named for a Buffalo Grove man who died of a heroin overdose has begun moving in Congress. The plan is named Lali's Law for Alex Laliberte, a Stevenson High School graduate who died in 2008. It would create grants that states could use to get more naloxone, a drug that can help save the life of someone who has overdosed on an opioid like heroin. Full story.

Man helps woman fix flat in South Elgin, then tries to kidnap her

South Elgin police are asking the public for information on a man who attempted to kidnap a woman in the parking lot of Home Depot. The 18-year-old woman got a flat tire early yesterday morning while she was driving south on Randall Road, said police, who responded to a call about 12:30 a.m. Full story.
