Naperville police apprehend 'despondent' man with gun

Naperville police apprehended a man described as "despondent" walking around with a gun Tuesday night, authorities said.

Police officers responded to the 1500 Block of Fairway Drive at 7:38 p.m. to look for the subject, a Naperville resident in his 30s. After an extensive search, officers located the man and the handgun. He was taken into custody and then transported to the hospital for treatment, though no physical injuries were reported, according to a police department news release.

Police said late Tuesday the man isn't facing any criminal charges at this time.
