Cruz making another day of Indiana campaign stops

BORDEN, Ind. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is making a new round of campaign stops in southern and central Indiana a little more than a week ahead of the state's primary.

The Texas senator plans events Monday in Borden, Columbus, Greenwood and Franklin, where he has scheduled an evening rally at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

Cruz said during a Terre Haute rally on Sunday that he's offering Republicans a true "conservative" campaign in contrast to Donald Trump's "yelling, screaming and cursing and insulting." Cruz also held an Evansville rally on Sunday.

Trump drew a few thousand people to an Indianapolis rally last week.

Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich announced Sunday that Kasich was backing out in Indiana to help deny Trump the necessary delegates to win the Republican nomination.
