Des Plaines students perform with Northshore Concert Band

Algonquin Middle School students will perform with the Northshore Concert Band Tuesday night in Des Plaines at a free concert open to the public.

The community band is composed of 110 musicians, ranging in age from 20 to 85, with an average tenure of 15 years. Approximately half are professional music educators, and the rest include business executives, attorneys and physicians.

They will perform together with the Algonquin 7th/8th Grade Band beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the school gymnasium, 767 E. Algonquin Road in Des Plaines. Each band will also do performances of their own.
