An interview with Michele Henry, Gineane Ryland & David Nummer of Ala Carte Special Events Division.

Q: Tell us a little bit about Ala Carte Entertainment Special Events?

A: Ala Carte Special Events is a division of Ala Carte Entertainment that specializes in custom event creation, organization and on site management to ensure a memorable experience for you and your guests. Ala Carte Entertainment has been in the food service, nightclub and entertainment business for over 40 years.

Ala Carte locations offer on site banquet space with party packages, off site casual catering services or will customize a menu of your liking. From menu creation, event coordination, to full entertainment production, Ala Carte Special Events can create the perfect setting, atmosphere and stress free experience for your special day.

Q: What's trending?

A: The talk of the town is currently related to our first "Taste of Ace Showcase Premier," designed for party planners and the corporate industry. Our goal was to provide the opportunity to experience Ala Carte venues tasty eats, acquire location information and view special event services all under one roof.

Q: What attracts corporate clients?

A: Understanding clients needs, be active listeners and present recommendations to ease the process. Our clients and their guests have increasingly higher expectations, and those providing event services should too. It is all about hospitality and the entire guest experience.

Q: What is your past experience in the industry?

A: (Michele) I started with Ala Carte Entertainment in 1985, and have been in the food and beverage industry for over 34 years. Past experience includes Banquet and Restaurant Management, Special Event and Fundraising Coordination, Catering Sales, Business Development and currently positioned as Ala Carte Entertainment's " Corporate Sales, Catering and Marketing Director". I take pride in what I do and feel extremely blessed to have had the opportunities to share special experiences in the food and beverage industry on many levels with clients through the years. I look forward to creating special memories for clients, their families and their guests for years to come.

(Gineane) I started with Ala Carte Entertainment in July of 2015. Since then, I have been working with my team to cultivate our Special Events Image and bring in new ideas for our clients. I have been in the industry for 30 years working with major Chicago companies in various positions including, Senior Operations Manager, General Manager and Director of Catering. My expertise is planning and overseeing high scale events and galas up to 15,000 guests.

I have worked with high profile clients as well as planning weddings and 1 year birthday parties. I believe every client and event should be handled with integrity, pride and feel every last detail matters in creating a memorable experience that our clients will have for a lifetime.

(David) I started with Alacarte Entertainment in 2006 working at one of the worlds top Venues, " Vision/Castle Nightclub." My experience includes themed events and promotions. With working in the night life industry, catering to celebrities and high profile companies, I have learned a lot about creating experiences for each of our clients. Every day is just as fun as the last !!! I look forward to making someone smile and walk away with a once in a lifetime experience.

Q: Tell us one interesting fact about Ala Carte Entertainment that most people may not know.

A: In 1970, A.C.E. began with a single location in Chicago called the Snuggery. The Snuggery pioneered music video, dynamic performance art, sound and lighting innovations that led to the Snuggery being featured in a 'Time Magazine' cover story on U.S. nightclubs, as well as being named one of 'Playboy Magazine's' top singles stars in the USA. By 1984, there were six Snuggery restaurant/taverns in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

Q: What is one hospitality idea that you are willing to give away to our readers?

A: Build a great partner database in business to collaborate, create and challenge each other for the most positive results.
