Grayslake electronics recycling site to stay open through 2016

The Richard A. Whittington Grayslake Recycling Center, 585 Berry Ave. in Grayslake, will continue to offer electronics recycling through 2016, the village announced Wednesday.

The notice follows approval last week by the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County board to fund the electronics recycling program after receiving voluntary funding from several communities, with the largest being a $20,000 contribution from Grayslake.

The Whittington recycling center is one of five electronic collections sites in Lake County. Last year it collected more than 800,000 pounds of electronics.

Its hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. For more information on electronics recycling or other recycling services, visit www.villageofgrayslake.com or www.swalco.org.
