Girls soccer: Bartlett, Huntley win again at PepsiCo

Bartlett 2, Oswego 1: At the PepsiCo Showdown, the top-seeded Hawks (10-3-1) advanced to the Gatorade Bracket final on Kaitlin Brohan's second-half goal, set up on an assist from Mariela Alba. Carrigan Sablik had an unassisted goal in the first half while keeper Teagan Noesen made 3 saves. Bartlett will face Huntley Saturday at Olympic Park in Schaumburg.

Huntley 1, Downers Grove North 0 (PKs): Huntley (8-1-1) advanced to Saturday's matchup against Bartlett via the same way it won Tuesday's PepsiCo match. The Red Raiders were held scoreless through 80 minutes and needed a 4-2 shootout edge as Alyssa Kaufman, Ally Sunter, Yulissa Solis and Taryn Jakubowski notched PKs. Keeper Paige Renkosik made 8 saves, including 2 in the shootout for her and the team's seventh-straight shutout.

St. Charles North 2, CL South 0: Morgan Rerko was all the North Stars (7-2) needed, as her 2 goals were too much for the Gators (7-4). Madison Kaufmann added 1 assist while Sami Sample shutout CLS with 6 saves. Annika Sevcik made 4 saves in goal for South, who's lost 3 of their last 4 games.

Jacobs 2, Rolling Meadows 1 (PKs): The Golden Eagles improved to 5-2 overall in a comeback PepsiCo win as Talia Surges tied things in the second half on a slotted ball from Caitlin Strong. After 2 overtimes, Jacobs edged the Mustangs 3-1 in kicks, with Surges, Cassie Kowalski and Maddie Belo converting. Goalie Emily Pasetes totaled 12 saves, including 1 save in the shootout.

Burlington Central 7, Romeoville 1: The Rockets (8-3) had some fun in a PepsiCo win as Elizabeth Gousios dazzled the Spartans for 4 goals. Jordan King didn't disappoint with 1 goal and 3 assists. Alyssa Mariani and Megan Majewski added goals as well while Jessica Clouser tallied a hat trick of assists. Abbi Ciganek posted 2 saves in net.

Kaneland 1, Plainfield South 0: Taylor Zitkus converted on a corner from Rachael Lutter in the first half and that's all she wrote for the Knights (7-3) during a PepsiCo shutout win.

Elgin 4, Bolingbrook 0: The Maroons (3-4) led 2-0 at the half and cruised to a dominant win in the PepsiCo Showdown. Makena Downing totaled 2 goals and 1 assist while Kylie Graves tallied 1 goal and 1 assist. Hayly Munoz also collected a goal while Emily Graves dished 2 assists. Michelle Perez had 1 and Hannah Erickson recorded a shutout with 7 saves in net.

Dundee-Crown 4, Morton 0: Behind Anna Kieltyka's 2 goals, the Chargers (3-5) came through with 3 scores in the first half for a PepsiCo win. Also scoring goals were Taylor Coffman and Alyssa Moreno. Emilie Hilton and Claire Pape recorded assists. Goalie Taylor Gonio had 3 saves for the shutout.

South Elgin 4, St. Viator 0: The Storm (5-6) made it two straight wins after a PepsiCo win. Missy Greco's 2 goals did the trick while Sydney Shephard had 1 goal and 1 assist. Kristen Schill also found the net while Corinne Hildebrandt garnered 2 assists. Jackie DeLaMora's 7 saves helped her claim a shutout.

Harvest Christian 4, Keith Country Day 1: Holley Colclasure had 2 goals and 1 assist to lead the Lions (3-0, 2-0) to a Northeastern Athletic win. Both Ellie Burzlaff and Becca Gafrick had 1 goal and 1 assist and Isamar Garcia picked up 3 saves in net.

Glenbard South 4, ACC 3 (OT): The Chargers (4-6, 1-2) rallied to force extra time but lost on a goal at the buzzer in the first overtime of a Metro Suburban West thriller. Gina Cortino scored twice while Victoria Opperman added 1 goal and 1 assist. Bry Mandarino managed 15 saves in net.

Vernon Hills 2, Streamwood 1: Michaela Gundersen assisted a Karina Nevarez goal, but the Sabres (3-6) were unable to come up with a win at PepsiCo.

Fenton 3, St. Edward 0: The growing pains continue for the Green Wave (2-7, 1-3), who were shut out in Metro Suburban West action. Goalie Anissa Gomez totaled 4 saves.
