US Foods acquires food service data firm
ROSEMONT - US Foods said it has acquired Food Genius, a Chicago-based provider of food service data and analytics.
Terms of the acquisition were not announced.
Focused exclusively on the food service industry, Food Genius offers a suite of technology applications which simplify the interactions needed to transform large-scale unstructured data into application-ready data sets and actionable insights. Food Genius employees will join US Foods.
"Our core technologies are built for a single purpose, providing consistent and predictable structure on top of what is normally inconsistent data sets in food service," said Jason Felger, CEO, Food Genius. "We're all very excited to be a part of US Foods mission of being first in food."
