Girls soccer: Bartlett, Huntley win in PepsiCo games

Bartlett 3, Oak Park-River Forest 1: The top-seeded Hawks (9-3-1) advanced in the Gatorade Bracket at PepsiCo thanks to 2 goals from Shelley Lyjak. Kaitlin Brohan added a goal while Mariela Alba dished 2 assists. Jessica Mirsky had 1 assist and Teagan Noesen contributed 7 saves in net.

Huntley 1, St. Francis 0 (PKs): Eighty minutes couldn't settle matters but a 4-2 shootout advantage earned the win for the Red Raiders (7-1-1) to advance in the Gatorade Bracket at the PepsiCo Showdown. Bri Wilder, Alyssa Kaufman, Ally Sunter and Yulissa Solis converted their penalty kicks while Paige Renkosik nailed down 6 saves, including 2 in the shootout.

South Elgin 3, Rolling Meadows 2: The Storm (3-6) got off the snide and ended a 3-game skid behind Corinne Hildebrandt's 1 goal and 1 assist effort in a PepsiCo matchup. Sydney Shepard and Kristen Schill added goals while Ari Walters had 1 assist. Keeper Jackie DeLaMora posted 6 saves.

Prairie Ridge 5, Streamwood 0: Sabres goalkeeper Yasmine Resendiz had 15 saves for Streamwood (3-5), who was unable to come away with a PepsiCo win over the Wolves.

Niles West 3, Elgin 1: A goal from freshman Hayly Munoz wasn't enough for the Maroons (2-4), who came up short in the second round of the Buddy's Helpers bracket at PepsiCo. Emily Graves tallied 1 assist and keeper Hannah Erickson came up with 7 saves.

Warren 3, CL South 2: Courtney Sengstock's 1 goal and 1 assist wasn't enough for the Gators (7-3) in a PepsiCo loss. Emily Warren added a second half goal while Jenna Ross assisted. Annika Sevcik recorded 6 saves in net.

Hinsdale South 1, Kaneland 0 (OT): The Hornets connected on a golden goal in the 82nd minute for a PepsiCo shutout win in overtime, dropping the Knights to 6-3 overall.

ACC 2, Fenton 1 (PKs): Anna Dudziak came up with a first half goal and a PK to give the Chargers (4-5, 1-1) a Metro Suburban West win in the extra session. Keeper Bry Mandarino totaled 15 saves, including 2 in PKs with a goal scored in PKs as well. Also connecting on their PKs were Victoria Opperman and Jasmine Madujano while Alex Montalbano added assist off her corner kick.

Cary-Grove 7, Hampshire 0: The Trojans (4-1) came up with their fourth-straight win in this Fox Valley Conference crossover win behind a hat trick from Natalie Gallant and 2 goals from Payton Edmond. Adding goals were Natalie Bethers and Carli Petersen while Genna Sobieszczyk, Kelly Stayart, Maddie Jannusch and Alex Airhart each had assists. Goalie Morgan Olsen earned a shutout.

Harvest Christian 1, IMSA 0: Isamar Garcia's 8 saves preserved a shutout for the Lions (2-0, 1-0) in their first Northeastern Athletic tilt of the year. Ellie Burzlaff recorded the game's only goal and was assisted by Rebecca Gafrick.
