Surgical Care Affiliates partners with Florida center

DEERFIELD - Surgical Care Affiliates has partnered with the physician-members of Gladiolus Surgery Center in Fort Myers, Florida.

The partnership operates an ambulatory surgical facility that represents an important access point for surgical services for the Fort Myers community. The center is licensed by the state of Florida and accredited by a national organization that sets safety and quality standards for ambulatory surgery centers. The center serves patients requiring surgical procedures in the areas of general surgery, orthopedics, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry and urology.

"We are grateful that the physician-owners of Gladiolus selected SCA as their partner and excited about the opportunity to collectively shape the next chapter in the center's history," said Rena Courtay, who leads SCA's Florida operations. "SCA's rapidly growing network on the southwest coast creates an opportunity for us to maintain access to physician-led, low cost, high quality surgical services in this region for years to come,"

Dr. Ira Zucker, a Gladiolus physician-owner. said the group selected SCA for its managed care contracting capabilities, marketing support and efficient back-office platform.

Upon partnering with Gladiolus, SCA now operates four ASCs in partnership with more than thirty physicians on Florida's southwest coast.
