Girls soccer: Burlington Central blanks Harvard

Burlington Central 9, Harvard 0: Elizabeth Gousios, Jordan King and Karla Ascencio had 2 goals each in a Big Northern East rout of the Hornets. Gousios also collected 2 assists while King had 1 for Central (6-3), which improved to 6-0 in conference. Megan Majewski and Sydney Pryor each totaled 1 goal and 1 assist while Erin Rafferty converted on a PK.

CL South 2, Grayslake North 1: The Gators (7-2) bounced back from a PepsiCo Showdown loss on Saturday with a second half comeback win over the Knights in Fox Valley Conference crossover action. Samantha Sisto and Courtney Sengstock tallied the clutch goals while Brandie Minogue and Katherine Siavelis notched assists. Keeper Annika Sevcik made 5 saves in goal.

Hampshire 1, Hinckley-Big Rock 0: Meghan McIntyre's first half goal held up for the Whip-Purs (2-3) during a nonconference win. Hailey Bialas chipped in 1 assist while goalie Catie Kochanski made 18 saves for the shutout.

Kaneland 1, Morris 0: Becca Richtman's goal 3 minutes into the second half gave the Knights (6-2) a Northern Illinois Big 12 East Division to improve to 2-1 in conference.

Marian Central 2, ACC 1: Megan Crabb's second half goal wasn't enough to muster a win for the Chargers (3-5). Alex Montalbano recorded 1 assist while goalie Bry Mandarino mounted 25 saves.

Riverside-Brookfield 7, St. Edward 1: The Green Wave (2-6, 1-2) were unable to stop the Bulldogs in this Metro Suburban West tilt. Ava Matsas found the net for St. Edward while Cecilia Kochanek had 1 assist.
