Fremont Library celebrates Earth Day with concert

Musician and environmental ambassador Jack Kaufmann played his flute while scenic images of the natural environment played in the background Sunday during Concert to Celebrate the Earth at the Fremont Public Library in Mundelein.

Almost 40 people attended the program sponsored by the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County ahead of Earth Day, which is celebrated Friday, April 22.

"The heart of my show has a focus on waste reduction," said Kaufman during his performance that mixed music and multimedia.

"I tie the use of our resources into the bigger picture."

Kaufmann has been entertaining audiences for more than 25 years with his programs focusing on the environment. Stories, vocals, flute, guitar, keyboard and percussion are part of his presentation.
