Aurora girl admits reported abduction attempt was a hoax
A 10-year-old Aurora girl has admitted to police that she fabricated a story earlier this week in which she claimed a woman tried to abduct her while she waited for a ride to school on the 1200 block of Marshall Boulevard.
Police on Thursday said the girl admitted to making the entire story up.
The girl originally told officers she was grabbed by the woman around 8:10 a.m. Monday outside an apartment building. She said the woman threatened her but fled when the girl started screaming.
Police had assigned extra patrols to the area in the wake of the original report.
