Girls soccer: Tuesday's Fox Valley roundup

Gia Wahlberg's hat trick helped St. Charles North (5-1, 2-0) to a 4-0 Upstate Eight River victory over the Maroons (1-3, 0-1). Morgan Rerko also scored while Hailey Rydberg and Jordan Karom notched assists. Sami Sample earned a shutout in net with 2 saves.

Batavia 3, Plainfield North 0: Thanks to Anna Lins' 2 goals and 1 from Megan McEachern, the Bulldogs improved to 7-0 with a nonconference win over the Tigers.

St. Charles East 9, Larkin 0: Chantel Carranza led the way with 2 goals and the Saints (6-0, 1-0) opened up UEC River action with a resounding win over the Royals. Also scoring goals were Megan O'Neal, Kaitlyn Dziubinski, Madison Cady, Claire Rasmussen, Kyla Augustine, Shannon Gatehouse and Rose Stackhouse.

Burlington Central 3, Johnsburg 0: Two goals by Megan Majewski was more than enough for the Rockets (5-2, 5-0) in Big Northern East action. Jordan King tallied 1 goal and 1 assist while Karla Ascencio, Jessica Clousier and Elizabeth Gousios all notched assists. Abbi Ciganek's 5 saves in net helped earn a shutout.

Kaneland 1, DeKalb 0: Holly Collingbourne's strike from Becca Richtman in the 57th minute allowed the Knights (5-0, 1-0) to stave off the Barbs in a successful Northern Illinois Big 12 East opener.

CL South 6, Hampshire 0: Emily Warren and Daisy Ochoa led the way with 2 goals each while Katherine Siavelis and Brandie Minogue both had 1 goal and 1 assist in a Fox Valley Conference Crossover win for the Gators (4-1). Jess Schoenfeldt had a hat trick of assists while keeper Annika Sevcik needed 1 save for the shutout.

Huntley 4, CL Central 0: In the Red Raiders' FVC crossover win over the Tigers, Taryn Jakubowski had 1 goal and 1 assist while Tori Padal totaled 2 assists. Alyssa Kaufman, Braidy Ceh and Bri Wilder also found the net while Yulia Solis added 1 assist as Huntley improved to 4-1-1.
