Baseball: Mundelein earns win
Mundelein 18, Shawnee 1: On Wednesday night, after losing to Grant earlier in the day, the Mustangs rebounded to win in five innings at Rent One Park in downstate Marion.
Brendan Murphy homered and doubled twice, finishing 3-for-3, and Reese Dolan was 2-for-3 with a double. Winning-pitcher Johnny Buckner struck out five in 2 innings, and Joey Sullivan posted 6 strikeouts in 3 innings of relief.
Mundelein (4-1) also got a 2-for-3 effort at the plate from Andrew Beres.
