Falcons re-sign free-agent safety Charles Godfrey

ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Falcons have re-signed safety Charles Godfrey, an unrestricted free agent who played in eight games in 2015.

Godfrey, a third-round pick by Carolina in 2008, started 75 games with the Panthers before signing with Atlanta as a free agent during the 2014 season.

The 30-year-old Godfrey had 12 tackles and forced a fumble with the Falcons last season. He played as a backup in each of his eight games.

He has 11 career interceptions in eight seasons, including a career-high five with Carolina in 2010. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.

The Falcons also signed safety Damian Parms, wide receiver Aldrick Robinson, and cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke. None of the three appeared in a game in 2015.

Van Dyke played in 25 games for Oakland and Pittsburgh from 2011-13. Robinson, a sixth-round draft pick by the Redskins in 2011, had 30 catches for 608 yards and five touchdowns from 2012-14.
