LEADING OFF: Price debuts for Bosox, Chapman goes for Yanks

A look at what's happening all around spring training in Florida and Arizona today:

___

NICE PRICE

David Price is set to make his Red Sox debut when he starts against Minnesota. The former AL Cy Young Award winner split last season with Detroit and Toronto, then became a free agent and signed a $217 million, seven-year deal with Boston.

AROLDIS AIRS IT OUT

New Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman is to pitch for the first time this spring, facing Toronto. The hardest thrower in the majors was traded from Cincinnati to New York in December. His regular-season debut will come after he serves a 30-game suspension under baseball's new domestic violence policy.

SEEMS OK

Tigers outfielder Justin Upton is expected to be OK, a day after teammate Anthony Gose stepped on his left ankle going for a fly ball. Upton exited as a precautionary measure. Detroit next plays Philadelphia.

O-FERS

The Orioles try again for their first win this spring when they take on a Yankees split squad - they're 0-9-1 in exhibition play. Baltimore newcomer Hyun Soo Kim of South Korea is 0 for 21 in Grapefruit League action.

HOPING IT HELPS

Rangers slugger Prince Fielder will be away for a couple of days. He's having problems getting proper rest at spring training and has gone back to Texas to take part in a sleep study. Assistant general manager Thad Levine said Fielder has been "feeling symptomatic for a while." Fielder is expected back in camp by the weekend.

FAST STARTS

Mike Moustakas is 7 for 12 with four doubles and six RBIs this spring for the champion Royals. ... Atlanta first baseman Freddie Freeman has two home runs and a double in seven at-bats. A wrist season ended 2015 early for him. ... Travis Shaw is making a nice impression for Boston. He has eight hits and two walks in 16 plate appearances. He's pushing converted outfielder Hanley Ramirez for playing time at first base.
