Library program keeps kids moving

Kids and parents got a chance to move around Friday morning in Vernon Hills during a program called "Not Naptime Hullabaloo" at the Aspen Drive Library.

Kids played games and listened to stories as librarian Mary Tompson led the program.

"This is all based on early literacy principles that have been written up by the American Library Association. I just try to keep it moving with some music and some literature," Tompson said.

Kids gathered in a circle and played with a parachute, then capped off the morning with crafts.

The high-energy program runs every Friday morning at Aspen Drive Library in Vernon Hills and every Wednesday afternoon at Cook Park Library in Libertyville.
