Hide the bacon! TV's Nick Offerman coming to Naperville

Actor and author Nick Offerman, who starred in TV's "Parks and Recreation," will be coming to Naperville's North Central College in April to talk about his latest paperback, "Gumption: Relighting the Torch of Freedom with America's Gutsiest Troublemakers."

Offerman came to fame as the mustachioed, meat-loving and extremely macho Ron Swanson on "Parks," but also has appeared in numerous films - including "21 Jump Street" and "The Men Who Stare at Goats" - and wrote the best-selling memoir, "Paddle Your Own Canoe."

His appearance in Naperville is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 6 at Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave., and sponsored by Anderson's Bookshop. Tickets are required for his program and book signing and are available exclusively at NickOffermanAndersons.brownpapertickets.com. One copy of "Gumption" is included with each ticket purchase.

No photos will be allowed at the event.

"Gumption" focuses on 21 figures from U.S. history that Offerman refers to as "great Americans," from George Washington to Willie Nelson. He combines serious history with humor and muses on everything from religion and politics to woodworking and meat.
