Man robbed in Arlington Heights alley

A man was robbed while smoking a cigarette in an Arlington Heights service alley Saturday night, authorities said.
The victim was standing in the service alley behind the 900 block of West Dundee Road at about 8 p.m. when he was approached from behind and had an object placed to his head, Arlington Heights police Cmdr. Nathan Hayes said.
Believing the object was a gun, the victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the offender ran away from the scene, Hayes said. The victim was not injured.
The robber is described as a heavyset black male standing about 6-feet tall, Hayes said. He was wearing all dark clothing and a hood.
