Benfica wins to provisionally catch Sporting

LISBON, Portugal (AP) - Benfica won at Pacos Ferreira 3-1 to provisionally pull level on points with Portuguese league leader Sporting Lisbon on Saturday.
Striker Konstantinos Mitroglou put Benfica ahead early. Diogo Jota leveled 10 minutes later, but Benfica's Jonas earned and converted a penalty in first-half injury time before Victor Nilsson-Lindelof secured the three points.
Sporting hosts Boavista on Monday.
Third-place FC Porto trails the pacesetting pair by six points before hosting Moreirense on Sunday.
Also on Saturday, Rio Ave won at Academica 2-0.
