PSV beats NEC Nijmegen 3-0 for 7th straight victory

AMSTERDAM (AP) - PSV Eindhoven beat NEC Nijmegen 3-0 Sunday to register its seventh consecutive victory and hold on to its one-point lead over Ajax at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie.
Luuk de Jong opened the scoring in the 17th minute before Juergen Locadia and Marco van Ginkel struck in the second half for Philip Cocu's in-form defending champions.
Ajax stayed within a point of the top of the league by winning 2-1 at FC Groningen.
Feyenoord, considered a title contender before the winter break, slumped to its seventh straight defeat, losing 3-1 at PEC Zwolle. Feyenoord is now sixth in the league and 20 points behind PSV.
