Snow moves out, freezing drizzle moves in

A daylong snowfall delayed flights at Chicago's airports and tied up traffic around the suburbs Sunday.

Freezing drizzle overnight left some roads icy for the morning commute.

The forecast calls for patches of freezing rain and light snow this morning. Highs today should be in the low 30s.

Highs above freezing predicted for most of this week could do away with the snow, as well as much of the ice that lies beneath it.

By late Sunday afternoon, the Chicago Department of Aviation said snow and ice at O'Hare International Airport had prompted the Federal Aviation Administration to cancel 135 flights and others averaged 70-minute delays, according to The Associated Press.

Another 35 flights were grounded at Midway International Airport, the AP reported.
