Kansas assistant hired by Arkansas to coach running backs

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas has hired Kansas recruiting coordinator and running backs coach Reggie Mitchell to coach the Razorbacks running backs.

UA head coach Bret Bielema announced the hiring Friday night.

Mitchell has coached at Kansas since 2010 and prior to that he was the assistant head coach and running backs coach at Illinois after serving as recruiting coordinator and running backs coach at Michigan State.

He has also coached at Minnesota, Kent State, Western Michigan and Ferris State and was a graduate assistant at Michigan and a student assistant at Central Michigan.

Mitchell is a graduate of Central Michigan where he was a four-year starter at running back.
