Student art on display in Libertyville

Several Libertyville businesses and community organizations will exhibit the work of young artists in March for National Youth Art Month and the village's own Fine Arts Month. The intent is to promote awareness of fine arts in the village and celebrate the contributions of our residents engaged in music, theater, dance, film, painting, drawing, sculpting, graphic and interior design, according to Mayor Terry Weppler. Paintings and three-dimensional art created by area K-12 students will be on display at the David Adler Music and Arts Center, 1700 N. Milwaukee Ave., and 28 additional sites. A free public celebration and opening reception for student artists is set for 4 to 6 p.m. March 6 at the Adler Center. Visit www.adlercenter.org.
