Man dies after car hits Aurora residence

A 33-year-old man died early Sunday after a car crashed into an Aurora residence, police said. The man, an Aurora resident, was one of two people in a Volkswagen Jetta that went off the road about 2 a.m. and hit a residence on the 500 block of Farnsworth Avenue, police said. The other occupant, Stephanie Figueroa, 27, of Streator, was taken into custody after a "brief foot pursuit" and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. Full story.

One killed, one injured in Bolingbrook shooting

One man was killed and another injured Saturday night after a dispute at a Bolingbrook home resulted in gunfire, police said. At 7:12 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of Cypress Drive to find a man with an apparent gunshot wound, Sgt. Anthony Columbus said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second gunshot victim was found inside the house and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said. Full story.
