Indianapolis school facing scrutiny hires team of attorneys

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A private Indianapolis school under scrutiny for its handling of allegations that a basketball coach sent sexually explicit messages to a 15-year-old female student has hired a team of attorneys to represent it.

The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/1RdRGZt ) Park Tudor School interim leader Peter Kraft told alumni in a letter Friday that the school has hired attorneys from two law firms "who will be representing Park Tudor in this matter moving forward."

Federal prosecutors charged Kyle Cox on Thursday with trying to entice the girl into a sexual relationship. The 31-year-old coach had led the exclusive high school's boys basketball team to back-to-back state titles.

Cox resigned from the school Dec. 15, is in federal custody, and faces a Monday detention hearing. He hasn't yet entered a plea.
